Together with Bill Russell, they made for a force to be reckoned with. It’s hard to name a player with a more successful Basketball career than Havlicek, having won the NBA Championship a total of 8 times with the Celtics. He had an endearing presence which earned him the nickname “Hondo”, after the John Wayne movie. He alternated between the shooting guard and the small forward positions and was one of the first players to ever do so.

Career Stats: 8-Time NBA Champion, 13-Time NBA All-Star, Points: 26,395 (20.8 PPG), Rebounds: 8,007  (6.3 RPG), Assists: 6,114 (4.8 APG)

#9.  Jerry West-27 PPG

He was such a crucial and iconic player that the NBA made a silhouette of his their official logo. He was one of the best scorers in the history of the game. He went on to the Finals a total of 9 times, however, he only managed to win one title. However, despite those statistics, he was one of the greatest individual players out there, as is evidenced by the fact that in 1969 he could become the MVP despite his team winning the finals.

#10. Larry Bird-24.3 PPG

It’s easy to see why he’d be on the list. His credentials are enough. He won MVP, Coach of the Year, and Executive of the Year Awards all in a single year. In 1992 he won the Olympic Gold. He’s won the MVP thrice, and the NBA Championship thrice. His rivalry with Magic Johnson has been immortalized in art in the form of a Broadway play.

Career Stats: 3-Time NBA Champion, 3-Time NBA MVP,  12-Time NBA All-Star,  Points: 21,791 (24.3 PPG), Rebounds:  8,974 (10.0 RPG) ,  Assists: 5,695 (6.3 APG)
