1. Ray Chapman
In a 1920 game against the New York Yankees, Ray Chapman was hit in the face by Carl Mays with a fastball. The player fell unconscious and was moved to the hospital where he was diagnosed with a fractured head. The fracture was about three and a half inches long. The ball had hit his head so bad that the skull broke and its pieces damaged his brain too. He passed away in some hours due to the bad injury. Ray Chapman is the only player to have died due to MLB injury and hence is the worst baseball injuries ever.
